Employment History

2010 – 2016

Principal Clinical Psychologist, Hywel Dda Local Health Board.
Responsible for development and provision of inpatient forensic mental health services for the Health Board. Role includes: assessment and formulation of complex cases, risk assessment, engagement, individual therapeutic work, offence work, family work, cognitive assessment, working with staff team in formulation and care planning, supervision, training, consultancy, service development.

  • 2009 – 2010

    Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Surehaven Independent Hospitals.
    Responsible for development and provision of psychological services to three separate units across Bristol and Pembrokeshire: a low secure psychiatric hospital for working age adults, a secure hospital for older adults with organic brain injury and challenging behaviour, and a community group home for adults with learning disabilities.

    2007 – 2009

    Clinical Psychologist, Pastoral Cymru Ltd.
    Set up psychology service to a newly established private low secure hospital for adults with complex mental health issues, forensic histories, and substance misuse. Duties included assessment and formulation of complex cases, individual and group therapeutic work, family work, offence-related work, risk assessment, staff training and development.

    2005 – 2007

    Clinical Psychologist, Pembrokeshire & Derwen NHS Trust.
    Split post: (i) Psychologist to Community Mental Health Team, providing psychological assessment and therapy to individuals and also supervision/consultancy to other mental health professionals; (ii) Service development role in setting up a new Primary Care Mental Health Service for Ceredigion.

    2002 – 2005

    Trainee Clinical Psychologist, South Wales Doctoral Course in Clinical Psychology.
    Core placements in adult mental health, child & adolescent, learning disability, older adults and specialist placement in Cognitive Analytic Therapy.
