Recent research had found that those who regularly practice meditation have improved perception and find it easier and keep their attention fixed on what they are doing (Mclean et al, 2010). The research was inspired by work on Buddhist monks, who spend years training in meditation. Meditation and its western counterpart mindfulness is increasing in popularity as an everyday technique and attitude to relaxing, focusing on everyday experience and heightening awareness.
