Laughter, we are told, can do as much good for your body as a jog around the park. It can lower blood pressure, reduce stress and boost the immune system.
A study in California (Berk et al, 2010) describes repetitive laughter being as good as repetitive exercise for our bodies and presented his findings to the Experimental Biology Conference in California. Even anticipating a good laugh can, apparently, benefit health.
Hardly ground breaking but well worth remembering when faced with a seemingly up hill, stressful day. Claimants, colleagues and experts alike can benefit from positive affect (smiling, laughing and positivity) and then go for a jog!!
